Bazi (八字) — The Four Pillars of Destiny

You probably already know your Chinese zodiac animal — maybe you're a Tiger or a Horse. That's based on your birth year and it gives a broad snapshot of your personality. But that's just the surface.

Bazi — which translates to "Eight Characters" — goes much deeper. Instead of one animal based on the year you were born, Bazi builds a full chart from four pillars: your year, month, day, and hour of birth. Each pillar is made up of two characters, giving you eight characters total — hence the name. Those eight characters paint a detailed picture of who you are, how you move through life, and what kinds of situations you're likely to face.

This isn't fortune-telling in the crystal-ball sense. It's a system that's been used in Chinese culture for over a thousand years to understand people — their strengths, their struggles, their timing. Think of it less as prediction and more as a map of your natural tendencies and the energy cycles you move through.
